Hello! Guess who? Well it is official. I am now a 2nd Green Belt. I passed my re-test. I am so happy. The re-test came as a surprised as I was not at all ready. I like warnings more than surprises. But I guess that is Martial Arts, to expect the unexpected. I was actually shocked. Coming out from Injury and being sick and not being in Class much due to it and with the Dojo closed over Christmas. I guess I was more prepared for it than I thought.

Fran is a 5th Kyu Second Green Belt, I am working now towards my 3rd and Final Green Belt and then it is Brown Belt baby. WOOHOO.

@Fran, congrats! On the grading. I know how tough thwey are cause I did karake for over 10 years & competed in coms as well. Happy your still enjoing it.

@Ekorre, wow! Less thah a week now till you go to Canada! Bet your heaps excited!!! I'm so happy for you & the adventure you are about to take in life.

Haven't packed yet BUT I have built small heaps. Not sure if it'll fit in my bag though... Looks a bit too much. Too much clothes and loads of Haribo and some Wiebele.

A fellow student flew today but he's headed to the *colder* part. (Thunderbay) They say there'll be highest temperatures around -10°C this week? I know there're much colder/freezing parts in Canada but THAT is already cold for me. But... right now it's much colder here at home than in Chilliwack. How weird is that? XD Nearly slipped on my way home. I just hope the snow they announced for thursday will come in late, after boarding and take-off XD

@ Ekorre You taking a trip to Canada? What part of my country will you be in? Pack warm clothes. Supposed to snow this afternoon and snow tomorrow. Don't forget hats and mitts.

@animallover I still have the passion. Wow two years been at it. Cool or what. I have one more Green Belt to get then it is onto 3 Levels of Brown then I head into Black Belt Land. And that is where Harvey is right now. We're looking forward to tossing each other around the Dojo. Not literally of course. We don't actually toss each other around the room. It's fun saying it to each other though.

All I say is sh... weather. We had some snow tonight (3 cm here, someplace else up to 10cm) and now what? First time ever I get one of my flights cancelled. Had to call them yesterday night but I'm glad we found out "early on". Fortunately it's "only" the internal flight and I already got a train ticked in exchange but I'm still pissed.That's exactly what we didn't want. Having to ride the train with my 20kg/44lbs luggage. Ah well, as long as the vancouver plane doesn't get cancelled...

Still have an eye on the train schedule as the train due 15 minutes prior was cancelled as well...

Hi EKORRE, I hope you are were able to catch your flight. Thunder Bay can be really, really, really cold. I lived there for two years. You definitely were lucky to get to come to a warmer part of Canada. I forget what it is you are coming to Canada for? How long is your stay?

NZ, That is so cool that you are doing a radio show. As for SGA vs SGU, I think both shows are great.

I had a great time at the concert. I sang along with every song. Near the end of the show Greg, one of band members told everyone to come up to the front and dance. So Nancy and I did. That was too much fun. Nancy keep commenting that up close, Jim Cuddy (one of the lead singers) is really hot. I agreed. He also has an amazing voice and is an incredible electric guitar player. That show just rocked. They even had a four song encore.

I was so tired at work the next day. It wasn't exactly an productive day. Thank God it was Friday.

Become self-employed so have had no time for anything except work, work and some more work, apparently you have to pay the bills EVERY month ... go figure

Be a bit manic for another month or so, but then I should be able to cut back to a normal 40 hour week, give or take, fingers crossed.

Life at 5th Kyu is pretty good. I am in the second row right smack behind Harvey. So I have a good view there. OOOO LA LA. What? I can look but not touch. I've gone and injured myself again. No not the groin muscle but my thumb. I was doing Pair Works and my thumb got caught up in the sleeve of someone's Gi and it got bent back a tad. OUCH.

An another happy note Sensei has complimented me on my Fighting Technique and Harvey even mentioned that he's impressed with my fighting. He's also impressed by my keen attitude and my thirst to learn Wado.

@Nanook: Well, if the groundhog-"winter" stays the way it is right now I have no probs with that.^^ I actually thought I'd get to know a real winter here but, well.... I chose the warm part of the county apparently. and around 8°C. Still freezing in germany though.

@Scarym: Looooved the vid. Thanks for sharing! I'm here in canada for my three month internship with the city of chilliwack. That's part of my practical semester during my studies for public administration.


I'm going to see the torch on sunday, that'll be a huge party.

Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself. You definitely choose the warm part of Canada. Here on the east coast it is currently -11C with a windchill of -21C.

Thankfully the weather here has warmed up a bit, averging 8 to 9 degrees during the day, although heading for another cold snap later this week, so back down to minus figures at night and a chilly 3 or 4 during the day.
